A fast-paced thriller reminiscent of [author:Tom Clancy|3892] back when his books flew off the shelves. It's a ripped-from-the-headlines story, the broad brushes of which will have you wondering if Rosenberg has a crystal ball. His character development is a little mechanical and the protagonist's interior struggles are almost forced in how angsty they get. Rosenberg casts a wide net for research, but sometimes he lets show how shallow it is, too. He will mention the nomenclature of various weapons being used by characters in almost overly-exacting detail, but then have them employed in Hollywood unrealism or mention "machine gun" when probably he meant submachine gun... If you're a stickler for details, Rosenberg's glosses over such things will have you grinding your teeth. If you're looking for a quick beach read and not too much commitment, then this is probably just your style.
